Stand approximately 8 inches or 20 centimeters away from a mirror.
Have your friend hold the PD ruler horizontally against your forehead, with the "Using a friend" side facing them.
Center the zero mark over your left pupil.
Cover your left eye and look straight ahead into the mirror.
Read the number directly above the center of your right pupil in the reflection.
